Losers live in the past; winners learn from the past that
winning isn’t everything, but the will to win is everything, that
winning starts with beginning, it isn’t getting ahead of
others, it’s getting ahead of yourself, not whether you get knocked
down, but whether you get up - and let’s face it, if you’re not making
mistakes, you’re not taking risks and you’re not going anywhere
because in playing to win, almost doesn’t cut it, and winning isn’t
everything, wanting to win is, so let’s try winning and see what it
feels like; if we don’t like then back to the nice warm changing
rooms thinking “I can’t be a winner and be afraid to lose”.
It’s the taking part in the winning that counts, not just winning a
chance to take part in the losing. (Or forgetting your shorts).
In retail you’ve got to be punishingly,
relentlessly hard on your team;
they’ll thank you for it.
